Ohio ‘green’ jobs could hit 2.1M by 2030

Green jobs to hit 40M by 2030

I came across this report showing that as many as 1 out of 4 workers in the U.S. will be working in the environmental, renewable energy or energy efficiency industries by 2030.

The report shows that these industries already generate 8.5 million jobs in the U.S., and with appropriate public policy, could grow to as many as 40 million jobs by 2030.  Many of these jobs are right here in Ohio.

The 68-page report was compiled by the American Solar Energy Society but it is not restricted to solar…it cuts across multiple industries that are environmentally-related.

You can download the report from the ASES home page at www.ases.org. The report is on the left-hand column under What’s New.  The case study on Ohio is toward the back of the report.
